[Guidelines for Therapeutic Intervention in Patients with Virus Infection with Hepatitis C]

Indications for treatment
Optimal treatment priority should be given to patients with
- severe fibrosis or cirrhosis (stage Ishak: 4-6, stage METAVIR: F3-F4, liver stiffness elastography:> 9 kPa (Fibroscan) or equivalent measurement in another non-invasive marker of liver fibrosis)
Monitoring patients under treatment and after discontinuation of treatment
Pre treatment
Before starting treatment, should be made
- Assessment of the severity of liver fibrosis. The liver biopsy is the perfect test, but non-invasive methods, such as liver elastography (usually Fibroscan) or serological methods, is widely accepted.
